Need more places to photograph? The San Jacinto Monument and Texas Battleship are great places for photography. Don't think you need a fancy lens either to get great shots. All of these were taken with a "kit" lens, 18-55mm. All you need is a good eye for composition and a beautiful sky as your backdrop. This is a great place to take kids or take an out of town family member who has a strong interest in history. The site is amazing and I highly suggest you pay to see the movie shown within the walls of the monument, which gives you detailed information about the battle of San Jacinto. There is a wonderful observation deck at the top of the monument which allows you to see the battleship. Explore, photograph, tour and learn about Texas history and the men and women who lost their lives protecting this state.
